Jessica Phillips leads strategic planning and innovation for K+P Strategy with the belief that classical music must be relevant and accessible to everyone. She focuses on strategic public relations, leveraging her clients’ unique voices to create deeper community connections and fresh digital content. Experienced in nonprofits, labor relations, media communications, and strategic planning, she cut her teeth as Chair of the MET Orchestra Committee for five years, where she led two negotiations and produced creative, often paradigm-shifting solutions to complex issues. She holds certificates in Nonprofit Arts Management from NYU and Labor Relations from Cornell. Currently, she serves on the faculty of the Center for Music Entrepreneurship at the Manhattan School of Music, where she brings her passion and knowledge of music education, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and community engagement in support of the future of the Arts. A member of the clarinet section of the MET Orchestra for almost twenty years, Jessica also co-founded MET Orchestra Musicians, a nonprofit organization through which the MET Orchestra gives back to underserved communities in and around New York City. Under her collaborative leadership, it developed into a groundbreaking online presence through innovative storytelling, relevant arts programming, and community-based collaborations. She lives in NYC with her husband, an organization development consultant, and their dog, Lola, who also serves as K+P’s Chief Napping Officer.
K+P Strategy
The K+P collaboration was born of a shared desire to disrupt the outdated perception of classical music as inaccessible and high-brow. We work with exceptional individual musicians and arts organizations who are independent thinkers wanting to differentiate themselves from the status quo. We are determined to amplify our clients’ voice in the crowded online market and transform the way their brand is valued with innovative and bespoke strategies.
